Grand rounds are a form of continuing medical education for physicians. The Okanagan Health Forum provides physician education in two locations - Penticton and Kelowna.
In March 2009 the keynote speaker, Dr. Neal Barnard, will offer local physicians a unique opportunity to learn about the valuable research being carried out by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) in Washington DC. Dr. Barnard's team has conducted a number of research studies which clearly demonstrate the value of lifestyle medicine as a powerful treatment option for overweight and type 2 diabetes. He will also share insight about dietary and lifestyle strategies for the prevention and treatment of other lifestyle-related diseases, including cardiovascular disease and cancer.
